Foundation Basics
The Oklahoma Hospitality Foundation is a charitable organization benefiting the restaurant, lodging and tourism industries in Oklahoma. Its mission is to enhance every Oklahoman's life experience by improving hospitality education, student access, and scholarships.

The Oklahoma Hospitality Foundation is:
  • A foundation that was created to present a positive connection between school, work and future employment for young people pursuing careers in the restaurant, culinary and hospitality fields;
  • A foundation that assists students with scholarships to pursue degrees in foodservice and hospitality. Scholarships are awarded to high school graduates, undergraduates, and students pursuing masters and doctorate degrees;
  • A foundation that developed Student Programs to cultivate a new source of talent for the hospitality industry through partnerships dedicated to emphasizing classroom learning, work-based learning, and mentoring programs leading to a recognized national certification; and
  • A foundation that provides educational certification, professional development, food safety and sanitation training and certification, supervisory development workshops, and professional certification courses from the National Restaurant Association.
The Oklahoma Hospitality Foundation has:
  • Awarded over $280,000 in scholarships since 1990;
  • Continually hosted an annual culinary competition for high school students with scholarship awards and trophies; and
  • Remained active in 30 schools and technology centers throughout Oklahoma, with over 800 students participating in hospitality related classes.
Be a part of the Oklahoma Hospitality Foundation:
  • Recognize employees at the Hirst Hospitality Awards.

  • Conduct a tour of your operation for schools.
  • Do a classroom demonstration or presentation in a school.
  • Make a tax-deductible financial contribution to the Foundation.
  • Be a financial contributing partner for Foundation events.
  • Be a stakeholder in the hospitality industry by investing in Oklahoma's youth and the future success of the industry within your state.
  • Make the Foundation a part of your estate planning with the OHF Planed Giving Program.

What's Happening
Lodging professionals and industry suppliers are invited to join the OH&LA Board of Directors for a Quarterly Membership Event to discuss industry issues and formulate association activities. These discussions will be followed by an educational luncheon.
AHLA's 2018 Policy Guide highlights the advocacy issues of most importance to the hotel industry, along with AHLA's positions on those issues. Advocating on behalf of a dynamic industry that supports 8 million jobs across the country and $1.1 trillion in U.S. sales, AHLA seeks to advance policies that foster growth, job creation, travel and tourism promotion, and economic opportunities.
Join OKWIL from 9:00am-12:00pm in August for a seminar on National Hospitality Employment Law Trends that Impact Your State, presented by Andria Ryan of Fisher Phillips. The seminar will be held in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa; simply choose the date and location that works best for you!Cost is $50/person. Registration is transferable but non-refundable and processed by the Oklahoma Restaurant Association.
OH&LA presented the Annual Stars of the Industry Awards, designed to honor Oklahoma's outstanding hospitality professionals for their service and commitment to the guest service and hospitality industry, on January 16, 2018. This year, submissions resulted in nearly 40 nominees from properties of all sizes among the 10 categories.
