The Oklahoma Chapter of Women in Lodging (OKWIL) is a joint initiative between the American Hotel & Lodging Association and Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association. This industry-wide forum is for Oklahoma’s female hospitality professionals and offers an opportunity to connect with top professionals and gain career momentum. The key focus for OKWIL is the professional development of women in lodging through quality education and solutions to some of the challenges that women face in today's workplace. Whether it be removing barriers or best practices, WIL and OKWIL is the place to engage on the next level! It’s also a place to explore women’s role in advocacy and getting engaged and involved in the role of government.

If that is not enough, OKWIL members are committed to giving back to Oklahoma's community through its Community Outreach programming and the great work our members to do servicing all types of organizations in the community. Be it homelessness, fighting hunger or supporting battered and abused women and children, OKWIL members give of their time and resources.

OKWIL is a community open to all members designed to ensure women have the same professional opportunities as their male counterparts.
With two-thirds of all hospitality management positions held by men, this segment is in need of everyone’s attention. OKWIL membership gives you prime access to high-powered women who empower women.

AH&LA ENROLLMENT
With more than 2,000 members strong, AH&LA's WIL membership is FREE to all women employed at an AH&LA Partner State Association member lodging property, regardless of your position within the company. For a comprehensive list of AH&LA WIL benefits go to https://www.ahla.com/WIL.

OKLAHOMA CHAPTER (OKWIL) ENROLLMENT
Once you've confirmed your hotel's AH&LA membership (OH&LA is happy to help in this confirmation), click this AHLA WIL link and enroll with AH&LA as a WIL member. Once you've done this you're ready to contact OH&LA to enroll as a member of the Oklahoma Hotel & Lodging Association. Again, your property must be an OH&LA member to participate in chapter activities.

Not sure if your property or company is a member of either organization?
  • To confirm OH&LA membership contact Theresa Martin at (405) 942-6462 or theresa@okrestaurants.com.
  • To confirm AH&LA membership, contact Blair Clemente, Senior Manager, Member Services  (202) 289-3177 or bclemente@ahla.com
Men wishing to support the mission of OKWIL may also become a member at no cost, so long as their lodging property or company is an AH&LA member. Individuals working for businesses who are not AH&LA members are eligible to participate in Oklahoma’s chapter activities; however, they are not considered to have AH&LA or WIL member benefits outside the state of Oklahoma.

We have a powerful story to tell and our engagement in matters affecting our industry and our community is what will lead to change. You can make a difference and we hope you will join us to act with one, unified voice.
